Attention to the COVID-19 Contingency
The LEGO Group and Fundación Dibujando un Mañana strengthen their partnership and provide food and education security to more than 2 thousand Mexican girls, boys and adolescents.
The LEGO Group reiterates its commitment to the development of children and adolescents in Mexico by strengthening its partnership with Fundación Dibujando un Mañana to provide food and educational security to 2,422 girls, boys and adolescents who live in vulnerable conditions and that due to the COVID-19 Pandemia they and their families are fighting today more than ever to achieve well-being and have quality of life.
Let us remember that, according to UNICEF Mexico’s figures, of 39 million children living in this country, at least half live in poverty and extreme poverty, a reality that with the consequences of the Pandemia on the world economy, more directly affects them, further limiting their access to the most fundamental rights.
Aware of this situation, the objective set by the LEGO Group and Fundación Dibujando un Mañana is to contribute to the food and educational security of these families with children and adolescents living in marginalized communities in Nuevo León, Mexico City and the State of Mexico and belonging to 16 civil society organizations.
They do this through social investment for the delivery of pantries, formed by food supplies, sanitizing and hygienic material, as well as manuals developed by the LEGO Group that allow children to learn through games. This helps them feel protected during this crisis, guaranteeing their right to play.
Comment on the collaboration made by Katty Beltrán, CEO of Fundación Dibujando un Mañana: “From Fundación Dibujando un Mañana we have always promoted work in alliance to achieve the objectives that we have set ourselves. Today more than ever, when as a society, we face one of the most challenging situations in our recent history, we must stay together, as established by the 2030 Agenda and its 17 sustainable development goals, in order to not leave anyone behind; especially the millions of girls, boys and adolescents who need us TODAY for them to be able to have a better tomorrow. That’s why together with the LEGO Group we are convinced that we will obtain a better tomorrow for Mexican children.”
